BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Euroactive Serbia is an organization in Serbia that focuses on helping young people in a special way. We want to teach them important things like helping the enviroment, using digital tools, starting their own businesses and understanding different cultures. We also care about making life better for young people in Europe, like giving them better education, more job opportunities, and a chance to be part of important things.

But we don’t stop there. We also love art and want to help our community by making it better. We want to make rural areas nicer, improve places where tourists visit, and show off the cool things about our country. Looking ahead, we have big plans. We want to create our own projects that make a real difference. We’ll use programs like Erasmus+ to help us realize a dream of a better future for young people, not just in Serbia but everywhere. We’re excited about the good things we can do!

ACTIVITIES AND EXPERIENCE IN AREAS RELEVANT FOR THIS APPLICATION

While our NGO is new to this field, we’re committed to helping young people learn and grow. Locally, we focus on connecting what they learn in school to real-life challenges. Here’s what we’ ve been up to:

– Erasmus Plus Awareness Workshops and Events: We have organized and facilitated several workshops and events aimed at raising awareness about the Erasmus Plus program. These activities, held in schools and local community centers, provided valuable insights into the opportunities Erasmus Plus offers, helping participants understand how to engage with the program and benefit from its wide range of possibilities.

– Volunteer Development: We actively support and mentor young people, helping them expand their knowledge and capabilities in youth work and project development. Through hands-on experience and guidance, our volunteers have gained essential skills in writing projects, organizing activities, and becoming more engaged in civic and community initiatives.

– Project Writing and Co-Organization: Our team has developed projects focusing on cultural issues and social challenges faced by young people. We have co-organized two youth mobility projects with our partner Euroactive Bulgaria: “Trends and Personalities: Escape the Social Expectations” (21-30.07.2024), which addresses societal pressures and expectations on youth, and “Mindful Creations: Art as a Voice for Mental Health” (14-23.11.2024), which uses art as a tool for mental health awareness and expression. Both projects are designed to foster personal development and community engagement.

We have a clear vision for youth development. We’re always looking for opportunities to expand and offer valuable experiences to young people. We strongly believe that, with the right support and resources, young people can make a positive impact on our future.

SKILLS AND EXPERTISE OF KEY STAFF INVOLVED IN THIS PROJECT

Teodora Rakić is a graduate in the Fine Arts Faculty in Belgrade, Serbia. She is very passionate about art and the power it has to make a difference in our daily life. Before studying Fine Arts, she briefly explored architecture, which expanded her understanding of design. She is in general a big enthusiast of studying digital art forms, especially cinema and animation. She envisions a future where the art community thrives and contributes to positive change to both local and global issues. She has been involved with numerous Erasmus+ projects, their facilitation and organization and wants to work more with youth to make positive societal changes. She believes that when people come together, art and understanding can inspire, educate, and bring about lasting change.

Nataša Medan is a graduate at the Fine Arts Faculty in Belgrade. She has a passion for learning about photography, mental health, nature, and ecology. Natasa has been actively involved in Erasmus projects and Solidarity Corps initiatives. She’s a nature lover who enjoys camping and hiking, and she draws inspiration for her artwork from the natural world and environmental issues. Natasa is dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment and enjoys coming up with fun and creative ideas to contribute to eco-friendly projects.

Sanja Stojiljković is a PhD candidate in psychology and a Junior Researcher at the University of Belgrade, Serbia, with an extensive background in both formal and non-formal education. As a doctoral student, she addresses modern challenges in educational psychology and assists in teaching courses that foster inclusive and supportive school communities. Sanja has been an active volunteer and participant in various student organizations, NGOs, and non-formal learning projects, such as AIESEC, NURDOR, and Erasmus+. Her love for cultural diversity and adventure lead her to gain intercultural experience through exchanges in Indonesia, Finland, Austria, Malta, and the UK. Her passion for socio-emotional learning and youth well-being is reflected in her doctoral research and her workshops on mental health, conducted under Erasmus+ and through the Center for Interactive Pedagogy (CIP). She further explores these themes in her studies on adolescents’ socio-emotional skills, particularly within digital environments. Currently, Sanja is undergoing Gestalt psychotherapy training, which will enable her to offer even more comprehensive support to young people by addressing their psychological needs and facilitating personal growth.
